We've launched a series of new SVQs to support Hair & Barbering alongside our existing Beauty offer across Scotland.
What are SVQs?
SVQs are vocational qualifications, accredited by SQA Accreditation, which provide individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary for specific job roles. They are formally recognised by SQA Accreditation as being relevant and credible. SVQs are credit rated and listed on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF), which ensures they are recognised, comparable, and offer clear progression pathways.
Ranging from levels 4-6, the new qualifications provide a robust offering to attract learners:
SVQ in Hairdressing at SCQF Level 6 (NEW)
SVQ in Hairdressing at SCQF Level 5 (NEW)
SVQ in Barbering at SCQF Level 6 (NEW)
SVQ in Barbering at SCQF Level 5 (NEW)
SVQ 3 in Spa and Massage Therapy at SCQF Level 6
SVQ 3 in Beauty Therapy at SCQF Level 6
SVQ 2 in Beauty Therapy at SCQF Level 5
SVQ 1 in Hairdressing and Barbering at SCQF Level 4
Workplace Core Skills
VTCT are also able to facilitate the achievement of your Workplace Core Skills for your modern apprenticeship offer. Workplace Core Skills are skills beneficial across a range of work environments that ensure apprentices have the employability skills they need to be successful wherever they may work.
